What do we use AI for?

Seedling bruker kunstig intelligens til to formål:

Seedling uses artificial intelligence for two purposes:

• Frøpose-skanning — du tar bilde av en frøpose og AI-en leser etiketten og henter ut planteinformasjon, vekstinstruksjoner og stelleråd tilpasset din klimasone
• Bladdiagnose — du tar bilde av et blad eller en plante og AI-en identifiserer arten, gir diagnose og foreslår stelletiltak

• Seed packet scanning — you take a photo of a seed packet and the AI reads the label and extracts plant information, growing instructions and care advice tailored to your climate zone
• Leaf diagnosis — you take a photo of a leaf or plant and the AI identifies the species, provides a diagnosis and suggests care measures

Which AI do we use?

Seedling bruker Claude fra Anthropic via API. Claude er en stor språkmodell (LLM) med multimodale evner — den kan analysere både tekst og bilder.

Seedling uses Claude from Anthropic via API. Claude is a large language model (LLM) with multimodal capabilities — it can analyse both text and images.

What happens to your images?

Når du skanner i Seedling:

When you scan in Seedling:

1. Bildet tas med enhetens kamera
2. Bildet sendes kryptert (HTTPS/TLS) til Anthropic API for analyse
3. Claude analyserer bildet og returnerer planteidentifikasjon og stelleråd
4. Resultatet lagres i Seedlings database (Supabase, EU) for fremtidig bruk
5. Bildet slettes etter analyse — det lagres ikke permanent hos Anthropic

1. The image is taken with the device's camera
2. The image is sent encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) to the Anthropic API for analysis
3. Claude analyses the image and returns plant identification and care advice
4. The result is stored in Seedling's database (Supabase, EU) for future use
5. The image is deleted after analysis — it is not stored permanently at Anthropic

Viktig: Bildene dine brukes IKKE til å trene AI-modeller. Anthropic bruker ikke data fra API-kall til modellopplæring. Dette er nedfelt i databehandleravtalen (DPA) med Anthropic, som inkluderer EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

Important: Your images are NOT used to train AI models. Anthropic does not use data from API calls for model training. This is stipulated in the Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Anthropic, which includes EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

AI-generated results in Seedling are advisory:

• AI-identifikasjon kan ta feil — spesielt for sjeldne arter, hybrider og unge planter
• Nøyaktigheten avhenger av bildekvalitet, belysning og bildevinkel
• Stelleråd er generelle og tar ikke høyde for lokale forhold som klima, jordsmonn eller eksponeringsgrad
• AI erstatter ikke profesjonell botanisk eller agronomisk rådgivning
• For planter som kan være giftige: konsulter alltid en fagperson

• AI identification can be wrong — especially for rare species, hybrids and young plants
• Accuracy depends on image quality, lighting and angle
• Care advice is general and does not account for local conditions such as climate, soil or exposure
• AI does not replace professional botanical or agronomic advice
• For plants that may be toxic: always consult an expert

Alle AI-genererte resultater er merket med «AI-identifisert» i appen slik at du alltid vet når et resultat er maskingenerert.

All AI-generated results are labelled "AI-identified" in the app so you always know when a result has been machine-generated.

Samtykke og kontroll

Bruk av AI-skanning krever ditt samtykke:

Use of AI scanning requires your consent:

• Du blir bedt om samtykke til AI-behandling av bilder første gang du bruker skannefunksjonen
• Du kan trekke tilbake samtykket når som helst under Profil → Innstillinger → AI-behandling
• Hvis du trekker tilbake samtykket, kan du ikke lenger bruke skannefunksjoner som krever AI
• Eksisterende AI-resultater i journalen din påvirkes ikke av tilbaketrekning

• You will be asked for consent to AI processing of images the first time you use the scanning feature
• You can withdraw consent at any time under Profile → Settings → AI processing
• If you withdraw consent, you will no longer be able to use scanning features that require AI
• Existing AI results in your journal are not affected by withdrawal
